Sierra Valley Rides

The Sierra Valley offers some very nice level terrain, with roads surrounding the valley that take you to all sorts of interesting places. To get to the Sierra Valley, drive north from Truckee to Sierraville (about 25 miles north of Truckee). Highway 89 between Truckee and Sierraville isn’t very suitable for road biking due to the narrow shoulders and blind curves.

For Carpooling, many of the Wednesday rides that take place in Sierra Valley will meet at the Donner Camp Picnic Area which is on highway 89 north of Truckee on the right a little over 1/4 of a mile from the Alder Creek intersection.

As you enter Sierraville, the second gas station on the right has a restroom. You don’t have to buy anything, but it’s a good idea to buy gas or food there once in while to show our appreciation.
