There is a market-café with a restroom at the intersection of highway 70 and Frenchman Lake Road. There appeared to be restrooms at campsites on the left side of the road going uphill towards the lake when I rode this last year. If you take a right at the dam there’s a boat ramp and picnic area after 1.7 miles.

To extend the ride you can ride to the left of the dam like we did last year. This will add 7 miles and 500-600 feet of up and down climbing. Also there’s the road that goes to the boat ramp. It looks like you could continue past the boat ramp and do some exploring there.

You could also extend the ride by going up Smithneck Road after returning to Loyalton which would add about 9 miles and 550 feet.

WHERE TO MEET:

Meet at the intersection of Highway 49 (Also called Loyalton Road) and First Street in Loyalton. If you turn right on First Street, which is after the post office, there are some spots to leave the cars.

There is a restroom at the market which is about a block south of where we will meet. , but they may look at you suspiciously if you don’t buy something.
