Mormon Emigrant Trial

The Mormon Emigrant Trail which is a lightly used road that goes from Pollock Pines to Silver Lake and back. It’s about 64 miles and 6-7,000 feet of climbing. Most of the climbing, all but maybe 1,000 feet, is on the way up to Silver Lake. There’s no services until we get to Silver Lake.

64 miles round trip from Sly Park Lake (near Pollock Pines on Highway 50) to Silver Lake on Highway 88.  Long climbs, but never very steep. Beginning elevation is 3500 feet, with the high point at about 7800.  Total climbing is around 6-7,000 feet.  There is no water anywhere on the ride except at Silver Lake (the turnaround point), so make sure you bring enough.
